What is Advent?

Advent is a word that means “coming.” The Advent season is the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas Day. During Advent, we reflect on the Incarnation (God entering the world in human form), and consider how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in the world as it is today.  It is a time for the Church and its families to remember, through prayer, reflections, special music, and acts of charity and generosity, what the true meaning of Jesus’ birth is.
