  • As I was tucking my daughter into bed last night, I mention that tomorrow (today) was the last day of 2020, and what a relief it was to be entering a new year. She thought for a moment, and then asked, "Daddy, why is new year such a big deal? I mean, what if they new year is just as bad as last year?"

It could be just as bad as the last one . . . so why even hope for better?

  • Why does God tell us to stop moving forward and devote time to remembering? The answer is simple . . . because we forget. We forget God’s goodness to us in countless moments. His grace that sustained us through tough seasons. His miraculous provision in desperate times. We forget how emotionally, physically and financially needy we were, and how glorious He was in our lives when He came through.
